About John Berry DVM
John Berry, DVM has served as owner, President, and Head Veterinarian of Lynden Veterinary Hospital (LVH) in Washington State since 1992. Dr. John Berry’s practice offers a full range of medical, dental, and surgical procedures for companion animals such as dogs and cats. The LVH staff also is recognized as the community’s leading provider of exotic animal care. Animals treated at the facility include reptiles, goats, pigs, birds of prey, ferrets, African lions, monkeys, and tigers.
An animal lover since early childhood, Dr. Berry held a job at a zoo in high school. In this capacity, he cared for animals of the African veldt, including elephants and large cats. From 1981 to 1985, he attended the University of Southern California (USC), studying biological sciences under a full athletic scholarship. Playing with the USC Trojans football team alongside teammates such as Marcus Allen and Jack Del Rio, Dr. John Berry achieved Academic All American status in 1983. He subsequently pursued studies in veterinary medicine at Purdue University, earning his DVM in 1990.
Dr. Berry’s responsibilities with the Lynden Veterinary Hospital include comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic treatments of patient animals as well as laser, soft tissue, and orthopedic surgery. His office maintains the only MLS cold laser equipment north of Seattle, offering advanced treatments for reducing inflammation and pain, and speeding recovery. Dr. Berry also uses a digital radiograph system similar to devices used on human patients. This equipment represents the only system of its type at a veterinary practice in the United States.
